Pomelo
Pomelo (Citrus Grandis) or shaddock, the biggest citrus in the world, has a wonderfully sweet and deliciously tart taste. This fruit is pear or round in shape. The skin is pale green to a greenish-yellow at maturity with light yellow, pink or red flesh and very thick rind pith. The taste is semiacidic, giving them their sweet tart, mild grapefruit with little to none of the bitterness of the grapefruit.
Pomelo is generally eaten as a fresh fruit, and they store well. The juice is also used in various beverages (both alcoholic and non- alcoholic), and the peel is sometimes used to make marmalade, can be candied, and is sometimes dipped in chocolate. In Asia, they use the flower of Pomelo to make perfumes.
The reason that Pomelo is popular is due to their very strong nutritional value, including their vitamins, minerals, and organic compounds like vitamin C, potassium, dietary fiber, vitamin B6, and magnesium. It does not have a strong variety of nutrients, but the ones that it does have are in impressive proportions, particularly vitamin C.
